Model Overview
It only takes one glance at the CTS to realize it's been totally redesigned for 2014. The exterior design language is sharper and far more extroverted than that of the car it replaces. Swept back headlights flow over the front fenders while car, while a more aggressive front fascia and grill let people know that Cadillac means business.

There are three different engine choices for the CTS in 2014, only one of which has been carried over from the previous generation. A new 2.0L turbocharged engine promises up to 30 mpg on the highway while still making a very impressive 272 hp. The mid-level engine, a 3.6L V6 carries over from the previous generation CTS but now produces 321 hp thanks to some additional tuning. The most powerful engine Cadillac offers in the high-performance CTS-V is also new; a twin turbo V6 displacing 3.6L and making 420 hp. This engine places the CTS-V into the company of European sports sedans BMW M5 and Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG.

The trio of engines and several different trim levels combine to give buyers plenty of options when it comes to configuring the CTS. All-wheel drive is available with either of the less powerful engines, while the twin-turbocharged V6 sends power to the rear wheels.

Standard equipment on the CTS include an 11-speaker sound system with satellite radio, a CUE infotainment system with an 8" screen, Bluetooth connectivity, dual-zone automatic climate control, keyless access and ignition, 8-way power adjustable front seats, one year of OnStar, a rear parking sensors and 17-inch wheels.

More expensive trim levels add features such as 18-inch wheels, leather seating surfaces, HID headlights, a navigation system, a Bose 13-speaker sound system, heated and cooled seats and a heated steering wheel, 20-way adjustable high performance front seats, a heads up display and a lane departure warning system.

Safety in the CTS is handled by several airbags as well as anti-lock brakes, traction control and stability control. Optional safety equipment includes a rear view camera, a blind spot warning system and forward collision preparation and automatic braking.

The CTS has been given a complete redesign for 2014. The car is essentially all new from the ground up. The 2014 CTS is longer and lower than the car it replaces, giving it a sportier stance. Extensive use of lightweight materials has ensured that weight remains in check-- Cadillac claims that the CTS is the lightest vehicle in its class. Two new turbocharged engines are also offered for 2014, one oriented toward outstanding fuel economy and the other toward excellent performance.
